An Analysis Of A Song "Nowhere Man" By The Beatles

"Nowhere Man" is a classic folk rock song by the wickedly famous band The Beatles. This song was released in December 1965 and written by John Lennon. "Nowhere Man" is one of the Beatles's earlier works. I guess that's why this song describes the writer's youth experiences.

The way they sang it just sounds amazing, Especially when they start harmonize. I feel emotional every time I hear this song. I can relate to the lyrics so much. As I mentioned earlier, this song describes someone who is young and has no idea what he's going to do with his life.

Let's take a look at these lyrics!

He's a real nowhere man

Sitting in his nowhere land

Making all his nowhere plans for nobody

These lyrics describe someone who doesn't know what he's doing with his life. So he's just sitting and making a bunch of plans for "no one," meaning that even he doesn't even believe in his plans and doesn't know what he's going to do with all of them. But at least he has plans.

Doesn't have a point of view

Knows not where he's going to

Isn't he a bit like you and me?

As I mentioned, he doesn't know where he's going with all the plans he's been making. Because he's still young, he doesn't have a point of view, and he's aimless, and it's so relatable because we all felt that way when we were young. "Isn't he a bit like you and me?"

Nowhere man please listen

You don't know what you're missing

Nowhere man, the world is at your command

When we were young, we didn't know anything about everything yet, and we don't even know what we're missing. All we think about is wanting to be free, listening to the voices in our heads and imagining that the world is at our command.

He's as blind as he can be

Just sees what he wants to see

Nowhere man, can you see me at all

He's blind, and he has a big ego. He only wants to see what's good for him; he doesn't really care about others or what other people think of him.

Nowhere man don't worry

Take your time, don't hurry

Leave it all 'til somebody else

Lends you a hand

Sometimes we have to relax, don't think too much about something and we have to be patient if we want to make the plans work. We know it takes time, and we know we can't do it only by ourselves; we need someone else to help us.

In conclusion, the song "Nowhere Man" explores themes of identity and existence. It captures the sense of aimlessness and confusion that we can relate to very well. We lost ourselves in our own thoughts, disconnected from the world around us.
